The brother of The Barn, Silo is located in the trendy district of Friedrichschain. Although the decor and atmosphere was great, I didn't really like the coffee snob crowd. And I mistakenly ordered a strong espresso macchiato, thinking it would be somewhat like one from Starbucks. Oops.

"The memorial consists of a Field of Stelae covering an area of 19000 m square and containing 2711 concrete blocks... The exhibition about the persecution and extermination of the European Jews and the historical crime sites was designed by Dagmar von Wilcken. The exhibition attracts nearly half a million vistiors per year."

The exhibiton along with the audio guide proved to be a very emotional experience. From the view above, you don't get to experience the personal and emotional perspective of the Holocaust. It is only seen and understood as mere numbers until you go through the exhibition and read about some families affected and their stories.
